New BTS ‘The Crown’ Pics Reveal Spot-on Portrayals of Prince Charles & Princess Diana

We still have over a month until the highly anticipated premiere of The Crown season three, but these brand-new photos of Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin as Prince Charles and Princess Diana are just the thing to hold us over.

Harper’s Bazaar recently obtained a never-before-seen photo from the set of the popular Netflix series, and it’s making us do a double take (in the best way possible).

The picture was taken on location in Almería, Spain, when season three of The Crown was still in production. It features O’Connor and Corrin recreating Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s royal tour of Australia back in 1983.

The actress is wearing an all-white ensemble, including a casual button-down dress with a simple purse and flats. O’Connor is decked out in a full-blown safari outfit, featuring head-to-toe khaki.

The sneak peek is a dead ringer for the original photo, which shows Prince Charles and Princess Diana posing in the Australian outback.

Unlike past seasons, the third installment of The Crown will take place in the late ’60s and early ’70s, so we have no idea how the couple’s 1983 trip will fit into the story line (could it actually be footage for season four?).

Since the characters have aged since season two, the upcoming episodes will feature an all-new cast, including Olivia Colman (Queen Elizabeth), Helena Bonham Carter (Princess Margaret) and Tobias Menzies (Prince Philip).

Fingers crossed the rest of season three is as spot-on as this photo. The Crown returns to Netflix on November 17.
