Zendaya’s new role couldn’t be more different than the introverted trapeze artist she played in The Greatest Showman.

HBO just announced that Zendaya will star in its upcoming drama series, Euphoria, according to Deadline. But (disclaimer!) it’s supposed to be really, really dark. (Think Intervention meets Sharp Objects.)

The 21-year-old will portray Rue, a pathological lying teenager who turns to drugs and alcohol in order to cope with the death of her friend.

The series, which is based on an Israeli TV show, also stars Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time), Maude Apatow (Girls), Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy) and Sydney Sweeney (The Handmaid’s Tale).

This is going to be good.
