Goodbye, Glass Ceiling! The ‘Wonder Woman’ Film Broke Major Records This Weekend

DC's Wonder Woman flew into theaters this past weekend and smashed the glass ceiling along the way. The female-powered film, directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), brought in a whopping $103.1 million at the box office and earned the well-deserved title of the most successful opening weekend for a film directed by a female, ever. We salute you, Ms. Jenkins.

In addition to shattering opening-weekend numbers, Wonder Woman is being hailed as the most well received DC Universe franchise film to date and racked up an impressive 93 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans and critics alike are raving over Jenkins’s direction and star Gal Gadot's portrayal of the iconic Wonder Woman character Diana Prince.
