Sure, Pixar movies are made for kids, but there’s an emotional core to them that really hits adults hard. Just ask Tim Allen.
The voice of Toy Story 4’s Buzz Lightyear revealed that the upcoming animated film is “so emotional” that he could barely keep it together while recording the final scene.
Allen opened up about his catharsis on The Talk, explaining, “I gotta resist getting emotional because I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story.”
He went on to say he was “startled” by how funny and poignant the plot is and admitted he was so verklempt by the end of recording that he “couldn’t even get through the last scene.”
Judging from how weepy the 2010 movie Toy Story 3 left us, it looks like we’re going to need to up the tissue ante when the fourth installation of the Woody-Buzz-Andy saga finally hits theaters on June 21, 2019.
