Rob Lowe & Ryan Murphy Are Tackling ‘Tiger King’ as Their Next Project

First, Netflix announced that it’s dropping an all-new bonus episode of Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness hosted by Joel McHale. And now, Rob Lowe is teaming up with Ryan Murphy to bring us cool cats and kittens more Joe Exotic.

It all started earlier this week when Lowe posted a slideshow on Instagram with photos of himself dressed as the now-famous tiger expert. As of Friday, the 56-year-old actor updated the caption and confirmed that he’s developing a new series with the American Horror Story creator.

Lowe wrote, “Rob Exotic. UPDATE: Ryan Murphy and I will be developing our version of this insane story. Stay tuned!”

If you’re thinking, this has to be a joke, you should know that Deadline confirmed the news, claiming Murphy and Lowe are in early talks to develop a project based on Joe Exotic’s life story.

No further details have been released, but there’s a good chance the follow-up will eventually make its way to Netflix, since Murphy signed a multi-year deal with the streaming service. In addition to 2019’s The Politician, he has a number of series in the works for Netflix, including Hollywood, The Boys in the Band, Ratched and The Prom.

Up next: Rob Exotic. (It’s a working title, so bear with us.)
