The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s The Post just dropped, and it has “Oscar nom” written all over it.

In the trailer, viewers get a glimpse into the true story of The Washington Post’s first female publisher, Kay Graham (Meryl Streep), and an editor, Ben Bradlee (Tom Hanks), as they consider publishing the controversial Pentagon Papers to expose a massive political cover-up during the Vietnam War. The duo must decide whether they should stand down or risk their careers by uncovering government secrets that span four presidencies.

The Post stars Streep, Hanks, Alison Brie (GLOW), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) and Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights).

Welcome back, Meryl. We’ve missed you. The Post will hit select theaters on December 22, followed by a wide release on January 12.
