Taylor Swift Shares BTS Pics with Zoë Kravitz, Lana Del Rey & More from the Making of ‘Midnights’

Calling all Swifties! Whether you're a die-hard fan or not, Taylor Swift album releases are like Marvel movie premieres, and the pop juggernaut just dropped her tenth studio album, Midnights, which was put together with the help of some major celebs.

To celebrate the disc's release, the 32-year-old songwriter posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos to Instagram that show the making of the album (and feature a few of her famous friends).

“Midnights is a wild ride of an album and I couldn’t be happier that my co pilot on this adventure was @jackantonoff,” Swift wrote in the caption of her slideshow. Jack Antonoff (who is the front-runner of Bleachers and former member of Fun.) has been a frequent collaborator of Swift's and he's featured in every photo of the singer's slideshow (including one curious snap at the end, where the two are dressed like Rococo-era French royals).

Swift told the story of their creative process, writing, “He’s my friend for life (presumptuous I know but I stand by it) and we’ve been making music together for nearly a decade HOWEVER… this is our first album we’ve done with just the two of us as main collaborators. We’d been toying with ideas and had written a few things we loved, but Midnights actually really coalesced and flowed out of us when our partners (both actors) did a film together in Panama.”

She added, “Jack and I found ourselves back in New York, alone, recording every night, staying up late and exploring old memories and midnights past.”

But Antonoff—who produced the entirety of the album with the “Blank Space” singer—isn't the only major figure featured in the photos.

The other snaps included major figures like singer Lana Del Rey, The Batman actress Zoë Kravitz and producer Sam Dew.

Swift referenced these other collaborators in the rest of her caption, where she said, “We were so lucky to also work with our brilliant collaborators @sam_dew, @sounwave, Lana Del Rey, @jahaansweet, @keanubeats, William Bowery, and @zoeisabellakravitz. @sharp_stickwas our excellent engineer. The wonderful and wise @bethgarrabrant took the album photographs.”

She closed by writing, “Midnights is a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows. Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely. Just like Midnights. Which is out now.”

The Grammy Award-winner has been teasing her tenth studio album for months, first announcing it at the VMA Awards on August 28, as she received the coveted Video of the Year prize.

Then, last night she dropped the highly-anticipated album at midnight EST, but that wasn't all she had in store. Three hours later, the singer-songwriter surprised fans by dropping seven more tracks, all of which were created in the process of making Midnights.

We can see why Taylor named this album “Midnights,” because we don't know when this woman gets any sleep.
