This just in, Stranger Things fans: Life is about to get majorly flipped-turned Upside Down. Series co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer just confirmed a third season of the nostalgic 1980s sci-fi thriller, and a fourth (and final, sigh) season will likely follow.
In a recent interview with Vulture, the Duffer brothers revealed Stranger Things season three received the green light from Netflix. Although a fourth season wasn't officially confirmed yet, Ross admitted the show will probably be “a four-season thing and then out,” before adding, “I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.” Oh, come on!
As for the upcoming second season, the Duffer bros claim they “wanted to push things a bit” for the drama’s sophomore run because “number two is always a little bit bigger.” Luckily, we welcome Demogorgons of all shapes and sizes.
Season two of Stranger Things is set to premiere on Netflix on October 27.
