The secret to livin’ la vida loca? Sharing it with someone you love. Case in point: Ricky Martin, who announced his marriage to his partner of two years, Jwan Yosef.
During an interview with E! News last night, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story actor revealed, “We exchanged vows, and we’ve swear[ed] everything, and we’ve signed all the papers that we needed to sign, prenups and everything.” He also stated that a huge three-day party to celebrate the couple is in the works.
“I’m a husband,” Martin said. “It feels amazing! I can’t introduce him as my fiancé. I can’t. He’s my husband. He’s my man.” Aww.
Martin announced his engagement to Yosef, a Swedish-Syrian-born painter, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show late last year. The singer explained when he got down on one knee, instead of popping the question, he admits that nervousness got the better of him, and he blurted out, “I got you something!”
But the minced words didn’t ruin the moment. “Then he [Yosef] was like, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you,’ and he was like, ‘What is the question?’ ‘Would you marry me?’ That’s it.”
Congrats to Ricky and Jwan! Here’s hoping our invite to that big bash doesn’t get lost in the mail…
