The slideshow begins with a video of the entire process, documenting everything from the demolition to the final result. The clip is followed by a before-and-after shot, a Boomerang and lifestyle photos of Retta’s new quarantine hangout.
As for the pool, the Good Girls star gutted the entire thing without changing the shape. She replaced the deck’s tan stone with a chic white marble and outlined the pool and jacuzzi in a black shiny tile, creating an eye-catching contrast.
In the caption, Retta revealed that she’s been itching to share the project with her followers, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“So, I’ve been wanting to post this since many of you have taken this journey with me via my daily stories: THE POOL RENO IS COMPLETE!” she wrote. “The plan was to have the pool renovated during the last few months of shooting, so that it would be ready for the summer and my family who were planning to come visit. But of course, the pandemic blew up and demolition started exactly one week before work got shut down.”
Retta also praised her contractor, Carlos, who brought her Pinterest board to life. “I talked myself into an even bigger job because I showed him pictures and my Pinterest board and that I liked the zero edge ‘look,’ but knew I couldn’t do it with a renovation and he was like ‘Ummmm we can do that,’” she explained. “I literally talked myself into a bigger job and I regret NOTHING!”
Thank you, Retta, for reminding us to always “Treat Yo Self.”
