Saturday, June 2, marked the 65th anniversary of the queen’s coronation. Yep, just let that sink in. The royal family took to Twitter to remind us honor Her Majesty and shared a stunning throwback photo of the new monarch moments after the ceremony.
Queen Elizabeth ascended the British throne in February 1952 following the death of her father, King George VI. Her coronation took place on June 2, 1953, at Westminster Abbey and was the first-ever royal event to be televised. NBD.
