Prince Frederik of Denmark Just Got Competitive with Princess Victoria of Sweden on Instagram

If you’ve ever wondered whether royal family members get competitive like us plebians, we are pleased to confirm that the answer is yes.

For example, take Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. The royal duo recently poked fun at each other ahead of the World Men’s Handball Championship final. The pair shared the same photo on their official Instagram accounts, featuring a screenshot of their timely phone call.

On one side, Prince Frederik is standing in front of the TV. The other pic features Princess Victoria and her husband, Prince Daniel, posing alongside their two children—Princess Estelle (8) and Prince Oscar (4).

Prince Frederik’s competitive side was evident in the translated caption, which read: “‘Good luck, Sweden, may the best team win.’ Not long ago, Your Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden wished each other a good World Cup final. In Denmark, His Royal Highness Prince Christian photographed his father.”

On the other hand, Princess Victoria demonstrated her team spirit by having her kids wave a Swedish flag.

Royal fans couldn’t get enough of the candid exchange and flooded the comments section with words of praise. One person wrote, “Nice gesture between good friends and neighbors.” Another added, “I’m crazy about this. Really good match between two close neighbors.”

The Danish handball team was victorious over Sweden, winning the match by two points. Still, there’s nothing quite like some friendly competition between two royal families. Amirite?
