It’s been two years since Shonda Rhimes killed off our beloved TGIT eye candy Derek Shepherd on ABC's Grey’s Anatomy, but we are happy to report that Patrick Dempsey is still sexy and returning to a small screen near you soon.

MGM Television announced today that Dempsey will star in the TV adaptation of Joel Dicker’s best-selling novel, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. The actor formerly known as McDreamy will play the show's titular character, literary icon Harry Quebert.

The ten-part thriller series will chronicle the trials and tribulations of Quebert, who was indicted for murder after a teenage girl’s body turned up on his property.

Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl), Ben Schnetzer (Snowden) and Virginia Madsen (Designated Survivor) have also signed on to star in the Epix show.

Welcome back, Mr. Dempsey. Like a fine wine and aged to perfection.
