There are few things that can top the awesome and joyous moment of seeing your baby for the first time through an ultrasound, but one artist might have just done it. Laura Steerman, an artist and mom of three based in Dublin, Ireland, transforms ultrasound images into gorgeous works of art so you can hold onto that feeling of wonder long after your pregnancy.

The idea for Steerman's prenatal art (and later her business QuaintBaby Bespoke Ultrasound Art) came during her first pregnancy when she felt that the static black-and-white photographs weren't accurately portraying her growing daughter's personality.

Her choice to use bright colors and sweeping strokes felt much more fun, lively and special, a true celebration of pregnancy and all the joys it brings.

Steerman's paintings start at €100 (that's about $125 in the U.S.), which is pretty awesome for a custom piece of art.

Check out Steerman's website to see more of her work (or commission a piece of your own).
