Anyone else excited by the fact that kitchen design is fun again? Last year was all about bringing bold color back to cabinetry and beyond. And for 2019? It's all about spicing things up on the hardware front. That's right: This is your official permission slip to mix and match your metals.

Think brass drawer pulls paired with a chrome faucet. Or brushed nickel knobs paired with copper shelving brackets. Or stainless-steel appliances paired with matte black cupboard hardware. (Or all of the above!) Matchy matchy stainless? Decidedly on the outs.

The latest innovation catering to the trend? The launch of Café; a suite of gorgeous refrigerators, dishwashers and stove units that allow you to mix-and-match custom hardware in a handful of finishes. Swoon.

We're fans because the mixed metals look is warm, unique and full of personality. But it's also a delightfully inexpensive way to breathe 2018 pizzazz into your kitchen. (Go ahead sister, take the rose gold knobs for a spin.)
