Meghan Markle Sings British National Anthem at First Royal Outing with Queen Elizabeth II
Meghan Markle showed her support for Queen Elizabeth II in a very British way during their first joint outing together.
Today, the future Mrs. Prince Harry joined Kate Middleton, Prince William, the queen and her beloved in celebrating Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey in Westminster, England.
Markle joined the congregation and royal family in commemorating the holiday by singing the British national anthem, “God Save the Queen,” as Queen Eliz entered.
Today’s family outing is Markle’s first official engagement with the queen. And since the holiday celebrates the 53 Commonwealth countries the queen rules over, it seems like the perfect opportunity for the future royal—who plans to become a U.K. citizen following her May 19 wedding—to dip her toe into life as a Brit.
Here’s to many more joint royal outings for Markle and Her Majesty. Oh, and the corgis.
