Sorry, folks, but this royal tour news proves the Meghan Markle effect isn’t going anywhere.
It all started in Sydney when the Duchess of Sussex wore an ivory shift dress by Australian designer Karen Gee. Since it was Markle’s first public appearance since announcing she’s pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s first child, the outfit sent loads of traffic to the brand’s website.
As a result, the site crashed multiple times throughout the day, causing a calling frenzy at the brand’s flagship store in Chifley Plaza. According to Gee, the chaos was worth it.
“It’s an absolute honor to have Meghan wear our dress,” she told BAZAAR.com. “The fact that she could choose anyone in the world and she’s chosen Karen Gee on her first day is phenomenal.”
The Blessed dress retails for a whopping $1,285 and comes in three different colors: ivory, ink navy and black.
Get yours before it crashes (again).
