Meghan Markle Just Wore Sheer Sleeves and Velvet for Her First Solo Royal Outing
We always thought chiffon and voile were fabrics fit for a princess (#TBT to our Cinderella-style prom dress), and the Duchess of Sussex just proved us right. Wearing a black Givenchy dress with velvet detailing and sheer Bishop sleeves, Meghan Markle attended her first royal event all by herself, which may explain the bold (royally speaking, of course) outfit choice.
Markle's solo outing was to the Oceania Pacific Art Exhibit at the Royal Academy in London on Tuesday, a fitting event considering the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will embark on their Royal Tour of Oceania on October 16, beginning in Sydney, Australia, and ending in New Zealand.
She paired the belted dress with a Givenchy clutch and her go-to black Aquazzura pumps, completing the perfectly balanced fall ensemble by going full coverage without feeling dowdy.
Add it to the royal's resume: transitional dressing *queen.*
