Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn ‘Birds of Prey’ First-Look Teaser Is Here & Holy Streamers

The new Harley Quinn–centered Suicide Squad spin-off Birds of Prey, is shaping up to be a party. Need proof? Well, Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in the forthcoming film is literally wearing a jacket made of streamers in the brand-new first-look teaser (and yes, it’s chic in a deranged party girl kind of way).

The teaser for the brand-new female-centered superhero (or villain?) flick quietly dropped today and—surprise, surprise—it’s a sight to behold.

Now that she’s finished with The Joker, Harley Quinn is rolling with a new crew instead of her old Suicide Squad pals. So she teams up with Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, who has a supersonic scream, Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, who’s seeking revenge after her mafioso father was slain, and Rosie Perez as Gotham’s Detective Renee Montoya. When future Batgirl Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) is in danger because of villain Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and serial killer Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina), the four female heroes band together to keep Cassandra safe.

But Harley Quinn’s good girl persona isn’t the only thing that’s different than when we last saw her. In the teaser, Harley Quinn debuts her new look, which has shifted from a ripped “Daddy’s little monster” tee and red hot pants to suspenders, a neon pink sports bra and, of course, the aforementioned jacket made of streamers. Her signature pigtails, manic personality and heart-shaped birth mark are still around, however.

Robbie shared an in-character selfie on Instagram and captioned it, “Miss me? HQ” with the puckered lips emoji.

Yes, we all do, Robbie. However, Birds of Prey hits theaters in more than a year on February 7, 2020, so there are more trailers where that came from.
