Lupita Nyong’o just shared her simple beauty philosophy, and we’re totally stealing it.
The Black Panther star recently sat down for an interview with People and revealed that she feels most beautiful when she “[keeps] it real.” She said, “I feel most beautiful when I feel that I’m authentically representing myself.”
Nyong’o went on to discuss her role as a spokesperson for Calvin Klein and how the fragrance represents her background. “Growing up, I would peel the bark of eucalyptus trees to make skirts for my dolls,” she added.
Although it brings back memories of her childhood, the 35-year-old is more focused on the brand’s female empowerment message. “Yes, this is a fragrance, but the message behind the fragrance—the fact that an individual is made by a community and is a sum of the influences that they absorb—is even more important,” she continued.
Bless you, Lupita.
