Kelsey Grammer & Julia Stiles Team Up for New Medical Drama ‘The God Committee’

Step aside, Grey’s Anatomy. There’s a brand-new medical drama in town.

Kelsey Grammer and Julia Stiles are set to star in an upcoming movie The God Committee, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project explores the U.S. transplant system, so prepare for loads of new medical terminology.

The God Committee focuses on two different story lines. The first follows a hospital’s transplant committee as they race against the clock to determine who will receive a donor heart. The second plot takes place six years later and examines the impact of that decision.

The film is written and directed by Austin Stark (The Runner). In addition to Stiles and Grammer, the movie also stars Colman Domingo (If Beale Street Could Talk), Janeane Garofalo (Saturday Night Live) and Dan Hedaya (Cheers). 

“The worldwide organ shortage continues to devastate families from all walks of life,” Stark said in a statement. “I feel honored to be working with such an incredible ensemble—anchored by Kelsey, Julia, Colman, Janeane and Dan—in my quest to humanize the transplant system and bring faces to the statistics.”

It appears Shonda Rhimes has some competition.
