Katherine Heigl Just Fully Embraced Fall with a New Dark Brunette Dye Job
See ya later, #HotGirlSummer, daylight past 7 p.m. and Katherine Heigl's bright-blonde locks.
Not just two days past Labor Day, Heigl has fully embraced the impending cold by ditching her golden mane for a dark brunette color.
OK, so it's not totally tied to the seasons. Heigl revealed that the hair color is for her role in the new Netflix series Firefly Lane. The Knocked Up star showcased the transformation on her Instagram Stories, then posted an "after" pic to her profile.
Heigl will take on the role of Tully Hart in the new Netflix drama that follows two women from their teens into their 40s as they adapt to major life changes like marriage, careers and families. Her character, Tully, will join Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) who plays BFF/frenemy Kate Mularkey, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Grey's Anatomy actress documented the process from her iconic golden-yellow lob to a deep chocolatey hue on her Instagram Stories, saying the process "could take awhile hence the champagne and book," referring to the novel, Elizabeth Gilbert's City of Girls, that she brought to the hair salon.
"Well...it took three hours and three processes but...I'm a brunette!" Heigl wrote, though we can barely recognize the actress without her honey-colored 'do.
