Don’t get us wrong: We’ve never seen Kate Middleton in an Alexander McQueen number we didn’t like. But, after watching her look ever-so-impeccably dressed on Saturday to celebrate Queen Eliz at Trooping the Colour, it was a pleasant surprise to see her out and about on Sunday in a much more casual ensemble from Zara, which set her back—wait for it—$70.
Yep, after a slew of busy weekends (the birth of Prince Louis! the royal wedding!), Kate finally had the opportunity to kick back, wearing a blue, off-the-shoulder pinstripe dress to cheer on hubby Prince William at a charity polo match. (FYI, it’s currently sold out on Zara’s website, but fingers crossed they’ll re-stock, stat.)
And it’s a good thing she decided to keep her look low-key: Prince George and Princess Charlotte also were there to hang and watch their dad, keeping the Duchess of Cambridge active chasing after them on the sidelines as they played with a slinky and did headstands.
For the record, we love casual Kate. We also hope she gets a bit of downtime this summer to, you know, chill with her itty-bitty babe, Louis. (Can you believe he’s almost 2 months?)
