Kate Middleton's Post-Birth Outfit Is a Subtle Nod Toward *This* Royal Figure
Prince William and Kate Middleton recently introduced their baby boy to the world, and we couldn’t help but notice Kate’s subtle nod toward Princess Diana.
When the royal couple debuted their new son on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kate paid tribute to her late mother-in-law by wearing an outfit resembling the dress Princess Diana wore when she exited the hospital after giving birth to Prince Harry.
Kate wore a red Jenny Packham dress with a lace Peter Pan collar and accessorized the look with pearl drop earrings and nude pumps. The ensemble closely mirrors the outfit Princess Diana donned during Prince Harry’s debut, which consisted of a red dress, white collar and shoulder pads. (Gotta love the ’80s, amirite?)
This isn’t the first time Kate has paid tribute to her late mother-in-law. In 2013, the duchess wore a light blue Jenny Packham dress after giving birth to Prince George, similar to the one Princess Diana wore in 1982 after welcoming Prince William.
Welp, we love this so much.
