If You Loved ‘Maid in Manhattan,’ Then You'll Love Jennifer Lopez's New Movie ‘Second Act’
Jennifer Lopez’s latest gig combines everything we love about Working Girl…with a hint of Maid in Manhattan.
STXfilms just dropped the first full-length trailer for Second Act, which tells the story of a 40-year-old woman named Maya (Lopez), who finds herself in an, er, unusual situation when she quits her retail position for a new job: Manhattan executive.
In the clip, we’re introduced to Maya, an ambitious woman who wants to live in a world “where street smarts equals book smarts.” What a concept.
So, naturally, her friend whips her up a fake—albeit polished—resume, forcing the 40-year-old to fake it ’til she makes it in the business world. Literally.
The film also stars Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), Leah Remini (Kevin Can Wait) and Vanessa Hudgens (Powerless).
Welcome back to rom-coms, J.Lo. Second Act will hit theaters on November 21.
