We never thought we’d be saying this but…Jennifer Garner is becoming something of a go-to for reliable recipes and kitchen inspiration. We’re not saying we’d cheat on the Barefoot Contessa (never), but “Pretend Cooking Show” has its merits. And when Garner wakes up at 5:30 a.m. to share a recipe, you can’t *not* recognize her dedication, right?
Seriously: The actor just dropped an “early” edition of her Instagram cooking series to share an “extra cozy” recipe—baking genius Rose Levy Beranbaum’s chocolate chocolate chip bread. (Yum.)
In the video, Garner wakes up before dawn (or at least pretends to) and whips up the treat while sharing some tips for early-morning baking. Step one, she says, is to have everything ready to go the night before. Step two: Don’t slam the kitchen cabinets. According to Garner, the recipe “isn't crazy sweet, and with a good swish of peanut butter, is just the thing for a [an] early-rising middle schooler.” (And don’t worry, she shares the entire recipe in her post.)
Like we said: We’ll never trade our precious Ina Garten…but we’re starting to like the idea of a new food personality in town.
