We Have Photographic Proof that Ina Garten Can Rock Something Other than a Chambray Shirt
If you follow Ina Garten on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed the vintage photos she’s been posting in honor of her and Jeffrey’s 50th anniversary. (If you don’t follow her, please do so now.)
And while we’re pretty smitten with the couple, we’re also noticing a trend: Ina was a fashion queen back in the day! Look, the lady can wear the hell out of a breezy, chambray button-down, but we’re loving the late ’60s and early ’70s lewks she’s serving us. Behold:
Exhibit A: On the eve of her wedding (1968, we did the math), Ina wore a mod overcoat, leather gloves and what looks like a pillbox hat while jetting off to her honeymoon. We’re getting strong Jackie O vibes here.
Exhibit B: It’s 1971 and Ina is camping for four months in Europe with Jeffrey (bless). The striped turtleneck is enough to make our hearts sing, but we’re guessing those pants feature a very wide flare, which puts the ensemble over the edge. (Jeffrey gets points for the hair.)
Exhibit C: Ina now works for the government (but not for long). The green lapeled jacket. The chunky gold hoops. The androgynous bob. We think this case is closed.
