Blessed be the fruit. Hulu just announced The Handmaid’s Tale season two premiere date. Here’s everything we know thus far.

The Emmy Award-winning drama’s second season will consist of 13 episodes and premiere in April 2018 (exact date TBD).

Offred (Elisabeth Moss), Moira (Samira Wiley), Ofglen Ofsteven (Alexis Bledel), Serena (Yvonne Strahovski), The Commander (Joseph Fiennes), Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) and more will reprise their roles in the sordid dystopian society. Clea DuVall (who plays Marjorie on Veep) will join Hulu’s prized gem as the newest member of the Stepford Gilead wives club.

Margaret Atwood, the celebrated author of the novel on which the show is based, is teaming up with Emmy Award-winning showrunner Bruce Miller in a more involved role since the second season is not based on source material.

Without Atwood’s original prose to go off of, there’s no telling what to expect. According to Moss, the show’s star and executive producer, “Season two is going to be bad too, really dark.” However, she did also say there will be some reprieve by way of an Offred love triangle.

Emmy Award-winning director Reed Morano will also return to helm the season premiere.

Blessed be the Hulu.
