The Final Episodes of ‘Grace and Frankie’ Season 7 Are Coming to Netflix This Week

We have good news and bad news for Grace and Frankie fans. The good news is the iconic duo are returning for more relatable adventures in a few short days. The bad news is it’s the beginning of the end.

Netflix is preparing to release the second half of the show’s seventh—and final—season. Although the first four episodes were released last year, the rest of the installments will premiere on Friday, April 29.

If you didn’t know, the comedy follows ex-frenemies Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) as they try to piece together their tumultuous lives after their husbands come out as gay and leave them for each other (ouch).

Grace and Frankie originally premiered on Netflix back in 2015. Although it’s ending after season seven, the show made history as the streaming service’s longest-running series. Last year, series co-creators and showrunners Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris discussed the show’s success in a joint statement.

“It’s thrilling and somehow fitting, that our show about the challenges, as well as the beauty and dignity of aging, will be the oldest show on Netflix,” it read.

Fonda and Tomlin also shared their thoughts: “We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season. We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well! We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around. We’ve outlasted so many things—just hope we don’t outlast the planet.”

Looks like we have weekend plans.
