You’d think that fans would be used to their favorite Game of Thrones characters being killed off by now (Ned Stark’s death still hurts), but a recent suggestion from HBO’s vice president of drama seems too terrible to fathom.
At the Innovative TV Conference in Jerusalem on Tuesday, the network’s Francesca Orsi hinted that many beloved characters will die “one by one.” Hold. The. Door.
According to The Daily Mail, the final table read was extremely emotional. “None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started to fall down to their deaths,” Orsi revealed.
Apparently, the cast members were in tears as they continued to read the script, but they ended the session with rapturous applause.
“By the end, the last few words on the final script, the tears just started falling down. Then there was applause that lasted 15 minutes,” Orsi said.
What does this mean? Will Jon Snow die (again)? What about the Mother of Dragons? And who can imagine the Seven Kingdoms without everyone’s favorite petite assassin, Arya Stark? (On the other hand, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if Cersei were reunited with the gods, old and new.)
