‘Downton' Fans: The First Photos from the ‘Downton Abbey' Movie Are HERE
Lady Mary! Henry Talbot! The Dowager Countess!
The gang's all here in the first photos from the Downton Abbey movie, and someone pinch us, because it feels like all of our Masterpiece dreams of the sequel are coming true.
The movie, due out in fall 2019, will follow the Crawleys as it picks up 18 months after the PBS show left off. And from the looks of it, Lady Mary is settling into the 1920s flappers fashions nicely (new year, new 'do!). Here, the pictures from Entertainment Weekly below (click on the arrows to slide through them all).
Violet Crawley has made her grand return (rumors of her absence from the film be damned!) and we even see Lady Edith, Bertie and (probably) Marigold returning to the Crawleys' home (looking happy, which might not last long if Mary has anything to say about it).
The photos come fresh off the release of the first teaser trailer of the film, which showed the Grantham estate readying for the return of its beloved residents.
Directed by Michael Engler and written by Julian Fellowes (who created the TV show), the movie will see the return of Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode), Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), Lady Cora (Elizabeth McGovern), the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith), Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael), Anna Bates (Joanne Froggatt), John Bates (Brendan Coyle), the Earl of Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) and more. The movie is set to premiere on September 20, 2019.
Someone fetch Mr. Carson, we have to tell him that Christmas came early this year!
