AHS fans: We finally have the official full-length trailer for American Horror Story season eight, and it just cleared the (radiation-contaminated) air about what’s to come.
The new Apocalypse trailer opens with the end of the world as we know it (’natch). All human life is decimated except for the few escapees (heyyy, Joan Collins) who hop onto a plane and somehow end up in a safe house run by none other than Sarah Paulson’s third character in the show, black-lipstick-wearing Venable (werk it). FYI: She’ll also reprise her roles as Supreme aka Head Witch in Charge aka Cordelia Goode from Coven and as Billie Dean Howard from Murder House.
But it seems the safe house may actually be the same Murder House from season one, because we see Rubber Man crawling on ceilings again and the Antichrist (Cody Fern) as the grown-up version of the evil baby born at the end of Murder House, aka Michael Langdon. The Coven witches are also there (Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery and Lily Rabe as Misty Day) and seem to be in control (or maybe helping?) the last-surviving humans (who, weirdly, are told there can be “no unauthorized copulation, no exceptions”…um, Handmaid’s Tale vibes, much?).
By the looks of it, the witches are down to play nice with the Antichrist, with Kathy Bates picking a side when she tells Fern’s character, Langdon, “Hail, Satan.”
All we have to say: “Hail, Ryan Murphy.” AHS: Apocalypse premieres Wednesday, September 12.
