Hej, hej, fellow travelers! We’re headed to Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2019, and for good reason.

The capital was just named the number one city to visit in 2019 by the travel experts at Lonely Planet. According to their annual Best in Travelreport, Copenhagen “is named the number one city as it boasts a world-renowned food scene and credentials as a design powerhouse.” Count. Us. In.

Back to the food scene: In 2014, Copenhagen’s Noma was named the best restaurant in the world. (The world!) And the Danish city’s high-end Nordic fare draws renowned chefs specializing in herring, smørrebrød (a fancy word for open-face sandwiches) and meatballs (and don’t forget to order the Carlsberg beer, of course). Also, Copenhagen is home to one of the most hygge hotels on the planet (if you’re into being cozy, and all).

Booking our first vacay of next year to the “capital of cool.” Who’s with us?!
