Grab your most capable looking outfit, because Clueless may be getting the remake treatment.
Paramount is in the early stages of developing a new film based on the popular ’90s movie, according to Deadline. The best part? Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip) will produce the remake, and Marquita Robinson (GLOW) will pen the script.
Although we don’t know much about the new version, the original film gave a satirical glimpse into the life of a rich Beverly Hills High School student, Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone). It was directed and written by Amy Heckerling and loosely—we repeat, loosely—based on Jane Austen’s 1815 novel Emma.
No word on whether the original cast (Silverstone, Paul Rudd and Stacey Dash) will appear in the remake, but if you don’t want to wait ’til then, Clueless: The Musical is a good place to start. We recently learned that Dove Cameron will play Cher, the virgin who can’t drive (that’s way harsh, Tai), in an off-Broadway production of the 1995 film.
