People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2022 Has Been Revealed...

Step aside, Paul Rudd. A new star has been crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive, and it's none other than fellow Avenger Chris Evans.

The big news was announced Monday night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (in addition to People's official website). And according to Evans, who's best known for playing Captain America in the Marvel film series, it's a dream come true for him—and his mom, Lisa.

In his cover story, he told the People, “My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about.”

During the interview, Lisa also told the outlet, "I am not surprised at all. Our family will be beside themselves."

The 41-year-old actor joked that the new title will lead to some teasing from his pals. He quipped, "Really, this will just be a point of bullying. It's ripe for harassment."

Aside from discussing people's reactions to the news, Evans opened up about his desire to settle down and establish a healthier work-life balance. He said, "When it comes to seeking out the people I play, it's more of an issue of where the movie shoots. I'm too old to be living out of a suitcase for six months, and I've settled into a nicer phase where I'm just happy being at home."

He continued, "The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas. I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return."

The actor also touched on his intentions to get married one day and have a family. He explained, "That's absolutely something I want. Some things you want just for you, or just for my family and my friends."

Most recently, Evans starred as Lloyd Hansen in Netflix's The Gray Man and voiced the main character in Lightyear. And fortunately for us, we'll get to see even more of the actor in his upcoming projects, including Pain Hustlers, Ghosted and Red One, set to release in 2023.
