For the past four seasons of Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna Gaines have dazzled us with farmhouse-industrial homewares and their proclivity for French doors. Now, with a heavy heart, the design duo is saying goodbye to their popular HGTV show.

To break their shocking news, the Magnolia magnates shared a heartfelt statement and touching video on their blog, explaining they will end their show in November 2018. (Chip cried. The end.) The statement reads, “It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last.”

It continues, “While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place.”

Chip also shared the video on Twitter and captioned it, “What a ride…BUT #Season5IScoming #onelasthoorah.”

Fixer Upper premiered in 2013, and since then the Gaines have become a household name, dipping their hammers into everything from designing their own store, Magnolia Market, to launching a lifestyle line at Target. The couple also stays busy with paint, rug, furniture and wallpaper lines, as well as running a quarterly magazine, a real estate company, a luxury vacation rental service and a forthcoming restaurant venture. Oh, did we mention Chip’s book, Capital Gaines: The Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff, is coming out October 17?

While the Fixer Upper stars may be closing this chapter, this surely won’t be the last we see of Chip and Joanna Gaines. We’ll always have Magnolia…
