When you think of amazing wine regions, your mind probably jumps to Tuscany, Bordeaux, Burgundy or even Napa. But you don’t have to head to Europe (or Cali) for an epic wine tour. What if we told you that you should actually book a trip to Idaho?

It turns out that Caldwell, Idaho, is the award-winning wine valley that slipped by your radar. Surprised? The Snake River Valley, located in the southeastern part of the state, has just the right conditions for grape growing. Aside from the rich soil and ideal weather, the land is also inexpensive. Read: Nontraditional vineyard owners (and dreamers) can dip their toes into the wine scene. There are now more than 50 vineyards, and many are organic and sustainable to boot. 

So quit scoffing when we say Idaho is the next hot spot and book your Airbnb already. Oh, and pick us up a nice Syrah while you’re there.
