Celebrity esthetician Sarah Akram has worked with everyone from Pose star Billy Porter to 13 Reasons Why actress Kate Walsh and Four Weddings and a Funeral star Rebecca Rittenhouse. So, when we chatted with her during a Celebeauty Sit-Down, we were curious to know what product she reaches for time and time again when freshening up the faces of Hollywood’s elite.
As Akram explained, “My number one product for all clients is Biologique Richerche’s P50 toner. The line offers products for every skin type, concern and sensitivity. It’s more than just a toner though. It exfoliates, hydrates and moisturizes. That’s why it’s known as ‘facial in a bottle.’”
Biologique Richerche’s specifically tailored formula comes in handy as Akram is customizing her many clients’s treatments.
“No two clients are the same, so each treatment is customized to meet the needs of their skin,” the skin specialist explained. “Generally my services include a deep cleansing, exfoliation through a light microdermabrasion and other cutting-edge technologies that brighten, tighten and deeply enhance product penetration. I take special care to ensure that every treatment leaves my client red-carpet ready, with zero downtime.”
She added that her facials are so gentle (but effective) that this year some clients even went to Emmys parties in full makeup immediately afterward.
Even though Akram swears by her favorite product, she’s quick to point out that there’s no silver bullet in skin care.
She notes that there “isn’t just one most important thing” when taking care of your visage. “It’s absolutely critical that you cleanse, moisturize and protect your skin with a physical SPF every single day,” Akram advises. “Makeup and SPF can cake on top of each other without proper cleansing, and if you don’t moisturize, your natural skin barrier can get compromised from lack of oils and hydrators.”
So you’re saying there’s no magic product that will make us look 20 again with zero effort? Bummer.
