‘Big Little Lies’ Cast Shares First Look at Season 2: See the Pics!
It appears the cast of Big Little Lies is (almost) as excited for season two as we are.
Reese Witherspoon (Madeline Martha Mackenzie), Laura Dern (Renata Klein), Shailene Woodley (Jane Chapman) and Zoë Kravitz (Bonnie Carlson) recently took to Instagram to give us a first look at the sophomore season of the hit HBO series, and it’s even better than we expected.
Witherspoon kicked things off with a photo of herself and Dern channeling their characters in front of the Seaside Coffee Shop in Monterey, California.
She captioned the post, “Watch out Monterey, here we come! #BLL2”
Dern shared the same photo on her Instagram account and wrote, “Madeline and Renata are back. #BLL2”
Woodley also took to Instagram to document her return to Monterey, writing, “JANES BACK. #letsdothis #BLL2”
Kravitz concluded the celebrations by posting a sultry selfie featuring Bonnie’s iconic braids.
She wrote, “Bonnie’s. Back. #BLL2”
In December, HBO announced that the TV adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s book would return for a seven-episode second season. In addition to BLL alums Witherspoon, Dern, Woodley and Kravitz, Nicole Kidman will also reprise her role as Celeste Wright, and Adam Scott will return as Madeline Martha Mackenzie’s husband, Ed Mackenzie.
To top it off, Meryl Streep will join the cast as Mary Louise Wright, late Perry Wright’s (Alexander Skarsgård) mother. She’ll star opposite Kidman as her character arrives in Monterey to search for answers about her son’s mysterious death.
Season two of Big Little Lies is expected to premiere sometime in 2019, and if these first photos are any indication, then we have a feeling it will be just as binge-worthy as the first season…if not better.
