Just a week after CoverGirl named Insecure’s Issa Rae its newest ambassador, the beauty brand added yet another inspirational lady to its lineup: Ayesha Curry.
Today, CoverGirl announced that Curry is set to lead the brand’s new Peacock Flare mascara campaign. Curry took to Instagram to reveal the exciting news by posting a gorgeous photo of herself peering into a vanity mirror.
She captioned the post, “My first makeup memory was running down the beauty aisles with my mom getting to pick my very own lipstick. It was a COVERGIRL pink glittery lipstick that made me feel so good about myself—even though it probably wasn’t my shade.”
Curry continued, “Well, I am so excited to share that now I get to take my baby girls down those same aisles, and they get to see their mama as a #COVERGIRL!”
The Ayesha’s Home Kitchen star and wife of basketball player Stephen Curry will be joining an A-list crew of CoverGirl gals, including Sofia Vergara, Janelle Monáe, Ellen DeGeneres and Queen Latifah. However, she will be the first spokesperson who’s not an actress, singer or social media influencer. “I am so honored and thrilled to join the iconic women of the #COVERGIRL family and be a part of a brand that empowers women to embrace their originality,” she added.
Curry has created an impressive foodie empire over the past two years. Her two adorable daughters, Riley (5) and Ryan (2), are the darlings of the internet, and she’s the star of Food Network’s Ayesha’s Home Kitchen. Oh, and did we mention her cookbook, The Seasoned Life, is a national best seller? #Goals.
Fingers crossed for a Riley cameo in Curry’s CoverGirl campaign.
