The writers of Saturday Night Live and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia just invented a new Alexa Skill to ward off unwanted visitors, and we’re all for it.
Away Mode is the newest command to hit the Amazon device, and it’s pretty much equivalent to leaving the TV on so your dog can enjoy “background noise” while you’re gone. The Skill plays long, humorous conversations that were written by the writers of SNL, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the Upright Citizens Brigade.
According to the description, Away Mode is designed to deter burglars like “that scene from Home Alone, except instead of cardboard cutouts, it’s insufferable conversations.”
There are seven different tracks to choose from, each featuring a dragged-out conversation on Ikea directions, book club meetings and so much more.
