Amazon Just Released an Echo Dot for Kids, and We’re All, ‘Alexa, Can You Babysit?’
There’s no shortage of amazing things we use good ol’ Alexa for: weather predictions, playing the latest Cardi B album and turning on the lights for a midnight bathroom run. But now it’s time to add the crème de la crème of tasks to the list: childcare.
Well, kind of. Introducing the newest Echo Dot for Kids. It’s everything you love about your Alexa-run device, filled with kid-friendly activities, music and more. From looks alone, the Echo Dot Kids Edition isn’t a whole lot different from the adult version, but it is outfitted with a color bumper to help keep it from scratches and grimy little fingers.
The best part about the latest Echo Dot is that its filled to the brim with a bunch of child-friendly content, including 300 Audible books, an ad-free version of iHeartRadio Family and fun games and activities from partners like Disney, Nickelodeon and National Geographic. Plus, there are preloaded alarm songs from movies like Coco and Moana to sweetly wake up your kids in the morning. (Or may we suggest playing some early-morning news from PureWow?)
With a two-year warranty and capabilities to connect to other Amazon devices throughout the house (aka no more screaming from down the hall that dinner’s ready), this might be our favorite Amazon device to date.
The Echo Dot Kids Edition is available starting on May 9 and retails for $80. “Alexa, remind me to preorder ASAP.”
