The ‘Saturday Night Live’ Parody of ‘Wild Wild Country’ Doesn't Disappoint
If you already binge-watched your way through all six parts of Netflix’s docuseries Wild Wild Country, then feast your eyes on the next-best thing.
Comedian John Mulaney hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend and teamed up with former SNL cast member Nasim Pedrad for an exaggerated parody of the hit Netflix series, which introduces viewers to the Rajneeshee cult led by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh throughout the ’80s.
The clip shows a montage of people discussing their experiences before cutting to one member, Kenan Thompson, who reveals he’s only there to pick up women in a series of hilarious commentary.
Sure, we can’t deny that his reason for joining the cult is priceless, but the real winner is Pedrad, who perfectly portrays Ma Anand Sheela, the second-in-command of the cult. (Spot-on accent included.)
BRB, rewatching every episode of Wild Wild Country.
