Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway Looks Radiant in 18th Birthday Portraits

While we're obsessed with all things related to the British royal family, we love updates from other royals just as much, whether it's rare photos of the King and Queen of Bhutan's children, or glimpses inside Swedish royal family residences.

This past week was important for one of Norway's royal family members, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who celebrated her 18th birthday on January 21. The milestone was recognized on the Norwegian royal family Instagram account, where they said, “Gratulerer med dagen til Prinsesse Ingrid Alexandra! Prinsessen fyller i dag 18 år. (Translation: Happy Birthday to Princess Ingrid Alexandra! The princess turns 18 today.)”

Along with this exciting announcement, four photos snapped by Ida Bjørvik were posted to the account, and the princess looks absolutely radiant. In three of the four portraits, she is seen wearing a simple black dress, along with diamond drop earrings. Meanwhile, the third photo shows the royal wearing a black blazer over a cream-colored blouse, which was seen in pics that were shared earlier that week.

A few days prior to the royal's birthday, a pair of different portraits also taken by Ida Bjørvik were shared to the family's account. In these snaps, Princess Ingrid Alexandra is seen smiling as she sits on an eggshell-colored couch.

In this caption (translated to English), they said, “On Friday, January 21, Princess Ingrid Alexandra turns 18 years old. The princess has got her own office at the Palace, where these photos were taken. In time, she will receive more official assignments for the Royal House, but in the next few years, the Princess will concentrate on her education.”

Princess Ingrid Alexandra is only second in line to succeed her grandfather, King Harald V, as the reigning monarch of Norway. We can't wait to see more of her in the future.
