The husband of the queen may have just wanted some fresh air (being the favorite royal of the palace staff is tough work, you guys), or maybe he was curious about a new film coming out soon…whatever the case, Prince Philip managed to accidentally stumble onto a movie set.

The jewelry-heist movie, called King of Thieves, comes out September 14 and stars Sir Michael Caine, Sir Tom Courtenay and Sir Michael Gambon (maybe more reason for the unexpected drop-in: The prince wanted to check up on his royal knights). According to ITV News, actor Paul Whitehouse said the royal drove up in a Range Rover during one of their scenes at Windsor, rolled down his car window and asked what they were doing.

Another actor on set, Ray Winstone, responded, “We’re making a film, sir. Yes, with Tom Courtenay and Sir Michael Caine, would you like to meet them?” The 97-year-old’s response: “No.” He then drove off. Well said, your majesty.

A true people’s prince, that one. (And a man after our own brevity-loving heart.)
