Will Prince Harry Snub Royal Holiday Tradition for the Sake of Meghan Markle?

Duchess Meghan Markle has really shaken things up in the royal family (we mean, those Christmas cards!), and she may have a hand in changing Prince Harry’s holiday traditions as well.

According to The Daily Mail, Prince Harry will reportedly skip out on the royal family holiday tradition of going pheasant hunting at Sandringham (the queen’s country estate where the family spends Christmas) in order to not upset Markle. Harry, William and Charles have had the tradition of going pheasant shooting on the U.K.’s Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) every year since they were young.

The five-months-pregnant duchess has never been photographed wearing real animal fur and has been outspoken about animal cruelty in the past, which is why Harry will probably decline to take part again this year.

The tradition apparently caused a bit of tension between the newly engaged royal couple last year, so Harry skipped out on the pheasant hunts.

Out with the old traditions, in with the new… (And we’re sure Markle has some fun holiday tradition ideas up her sleeve to replace it.)
