Lately, Peter Dinklage has been setting the stage for his Game of Thrones character Tyrion Lannister’s gruesome demise. Today, he offered an even more cryptic detail about Tyrion’s fate, and all we can say is stop toying with us, Peter.
In an interview with Vulture, the Emmy winner reflected on saying goodbye to the hit HBO series and called his last day on set “beautifully bittersweet.” Dinklage went on to appreciate his character’s progression from the Lannister family party boy to Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) right-hand man, saying, “He certainly developed a deeper sense of responsibility over the course of the show.”
And that’s when he dropped the bombshell. “I think [Tyrion] was given a very good conclusion,” the actor teased. “No matter what that is—death can be a great way out.”
Death?! We need to go lay down and process this…potentially until Game of Thrones returns for its eighth and final season in the first half of 2019.
