A Little Birdie Told Us Nicole Kidman Is Starring in ‘The Goldfinch’ Adaptation
Nicole Kidman announced a big little surprise today.
The Big Little Lies star took to Instagram to announce she’s slipping into character for her next role as Mrs. Barbour in the highly anticipated film The Goldfinch, and it started filming today. Though Kidman is new to Instagram, she heralded the news like a pro-influencer.
The insect enthusiast portrays the matriarch of an affluent family that takes in young Theodore Decker (Oakes Fegley) after his mother dies in a terrorist attack in the film. Kidman joins Ansel Elgort, who plays the grown-up Theodore in the adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel. Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard is also set to star in the movie as young Theo’s friend Boris.
We never expected to have Celeste Perry, Mike Wheeler and a Baby Driver in the same movie, but now that it’s happening, we are so along for the ride.
