With the royal wedding just a month away, it’s safe to assume that Meghan Markle is prioritizing her wellness routine. Lucky for us, Craig McNamee, who trained Markle at Catalyst Health when she lived in Toronto, just spilled the beans on the royal-to-be’s full wedding workout. (And we can’t wait to copy it.)
McNamee chatted with Women’s Health about the workout routine he created for Markle and revealed that they opted to add circuit-based strength training to her already vigorous routine of running and yoga in order to maximize results. As McNamee explained, she was “already in fantastic shape.” (Duh.)
Markle trained three or four mornings a week, doing 45-minute sessions focused on high repetitions (20 to 25 times for each exercise) and low weights. She was also fond of incorporating mini resistance bands into her lower-body strengthening routine. Aside from toning, McNamee said that Markle’s workout focused on improving her posture by targeting her glutes, back, hamstrings, abs, obliques and pelvic floor.
The duo trained together for three years until London came calling and Markle went off to live her best royal life. Even across the pond, McNamee is confident that Markle is still getting in fierce workouts whenever she can. “Meghan is dedicated to her health, it’s a big aspect of her life—so for her, now it’s about keeping up with the workouts we did together and making them count,” McNamee said.
That’s it, we’re buying all the mini resistance bands.
