Lily Collins Is Set to Star in an Epic New TV Rendition of ‘Les Miserables’
Lily Collins dreamed a dream and yesterday it came true.
The To the Bone star revealed on Instagram that she landed the coveted role of Fantine in BBC One’s upcoming Les Miserables miniseries. And what better way to celebrate than with a new costar selfie starring David Oyelowo (Javert) and Dominic West (Jean Valjean)?
The actress shared that she’s still in shock over the news, writing, “After having to keep this a secret, I couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to finally announce my involvement in this new project! I’ll be joining @David Oyelowo and #DominicWestin @bbcone’s @Les Miserables playing the iconic character Fantine. What an absolute dream to be working with this incredible ensembles on such a legendary story. I’m still pinching myself…”
Um, we don’t blame you. Anne Hathaway’s 2012 depiction of the legendary role in the Tom Hooper-directed film did win her an Oscar.
The six-part miniseries begins shooting in February, and while we’re heartbroken to learn it won’t be a musical, we’re thrilled for its debut early next year.
